Use at mentions to send email notifications

Using mentions (also called "@mentions") within a comment allows you to alert others of important information related to a specific item. For example, if you'd like to make the Security Team aware of a specific item, or if you'd like the Application Manager to verify permissions, you can use the @mention in the comment and the person or team mentioned will be notified via email.

Note

For email notifications to be sent properly, SMTP must be configured and email must be enabled in System Configuration > General Settings > SMTP.

To add an @mention in a comment, complete the following steps:

  1. Enter the at symbol (@) in the comment area, and then enter the name or Permission Assist role (Security Team, Application Manager, remediation manager, remediation team, etc.) you want to mention.

  2. When the comment is saved, an email notification is sent to the person or role being mentioned.
