Approve or verify a personnel event

When your Administrator has configured approval or verification rules for a personnel event type, designated approvers or verifiers must each provide their decision before the step advances. The Approve step does not advance until all required approvals are received, and the Verify step does not advance until all required verifications are received.

Each step card shows who has already responded and how many responses are still needed.

Approve or verify

To approve or verify a personnel event, complete the following steps:

  1. Go to the My Taskboards menu and select Personnel Events.
  2. Select the personnel event. The event detail page is displayed.
  3. (Optional) Select Applications Included on the Approve or Verify step card to review the applications and access changes associated with this step. If you are an approver, the event reporter, or the event assignee, you can also adjust which applications are included before the Approve step is completed. See Adjust application selection below.
  4. Select the Approve or Verify button. Your response is recorded and the remaining count updates. When all required responses are received, the step advances automatically.

Note

The Approve or Verify button is only visible if you are configured as an approver or verifier for this event type. If the button is not visible, contact your Administrator to confirm your role assignment.

Change your approval or verification

If you need to change your decision, you can clear your response while the step is still in progress.

To clear your response, complete the following steps:

  1. Go to the My Taskboards menu and select Personnel Events.
  2. Select the personnel event.
  3. Select Reset my vote on the step card. Your response is cleared and the remaining count updates.
  4. Select the Approve or Verify button to respond again.

Note

Reset my vote is only available while the step is still open. Once all required responses are received and the step advances, responses cannot be changed.

Adjust application selection

During the Approve step, authorized participants — including approvers, the event reporter, and the event assignee — can adjust which applications are included before the step is completed. Participants who are not in one of these roles see the list as read-only.

Adjusting the selection is a governance decision. Access models are the primary guide for what access is needed — customizing the scope for a specific event should be intentional and will be recorded in the event's activity log.

Note

This option is only available while the Approve step is still in progress. Once all required approvals are received and the step advances, the selection cannot be changed.

To adjust the application selection, complete the following steps:

  1. Select Applications Included on the Approve step card. The application list is displayed.
  2. Select or clear the option next to each application you want to include or exclude.
  3. Select the Update button. The Are you sure? window is displayed.
  4. Review the notice. In the confirmation field, enter CONFIRM.
  5. Select the Confirm button. The selection is updated and the change is recorded in the event's activity log.

Only the applications that remain selected when the Approve step is completed will create access requests for the Provision Team.
