Request a change to user permissions¶
There are times when someone needs a permission change that is not related to an HR event like onboarding or offboarding. For example, an employee may need access to an additional application, or a user account may need to be temporarily suspended. In those cases, you can use the Change User option to request a change to a specific user account within a specific application.
Note
If an employee is changing job roles (for example, from Teller 1 to Teller 2), initiate a role transition instead. The Change User option is more appropriate when a change within a specific application does not affect the employee's overall role or position.
Note
Before you begin, you must initiate a personnel event and select Change User.
Step 1 — Select the application¶
-
In the Select an application field, select the application in which user account information or permissions needs to change.
-
Select the Next button.
Step 2 — Select the change type¶
-
Select one of the following options:
Option Description Add Request a new user account be added to the application, or change user account information for an existing user account Change Change user account permissions within the application Remove Remove the user account from the application Suspend Disable the user account Restore Enable a disabled user account or restore user account permissions -
Select the Next button.
Step 3 — Complete the request details¶
Depending on the change type you selected, Permission Assist displays a series of pages to collect the information needed for the request.
-
Complete each page as it is displayed, providing the required information for the change.
-
When all information has been entered, select the Submit button. The request is created.
What happens next¶
After the request is created, it appears on the Provision Team's Change Management Taskboard as an access request. A Provision Engineer will make the required changes in the application. For more information about how access requests are processed, see How personnel events work.
