Identities

The Identites page within the System Configuration area allows you to elaborate your identity information in ways that are specific to your organization. For example, if your organization has both an internal job title and an external job title, and the external job title is already being imported through Active Directory. You can define a custom identity field to hold the internal job title.

Custom identity fields can be used when:

  • creating access models

  • matching users to identities

  • onboarding new identities

To define custom fields, complete the following steps:

  1. If you're not already on the Identities page, go the System Configuration cogwheel and select General Settings.

  2. In the menu on the left, select the Identities option under the Manage heading.

  3. In one of the custom fields, enter the name of the field (up to 16 characters). For example, if you want to add an internal job title, you might name it Internal Title.

  4. To enable the field for use in other areas of Permission Assist, select the button to the left of the label ( ). When the field is enabled the button appears green ().

  5. Select Save.
