Request Onboarding

After initiating an onboarding request, Permission Assist walks you through a series of questions. Refer to the table below for more information about each step:

Description

Has this person already been set up in your directory?

Select one of the following options:

  • Yes - select this option if the new employee has already been added to your directory source (i.e., Active Directory). This option is ideal if your internal processes dictate that the employee be added to Active Directory as the first step of onboarding and before any other step (including this one).

  • No - select this option if the new employee has not yet been added to your directory source and you want Permission Assist to help you create that account. This option is ideal if you are struggling to keep your HR system and your directory source (i.e., Active Directory) in alignment.

Choose who you want to complete onboarding

This page displayed if you are onboarding a new employee that has already been added to your directory source (i.e., Active Directory).

  1. In the Select an identity field, type the name of the identity or scroll down and pick the employee from the list.

    NOTE: If you do not see the employee within the Identities list, it's most likely because the list of Identities has not been updated since the account was created within your directory source. Permission Assist updates the list of Identities on a regular basis, which may be as often as every 15 minutes or as long as a week. Your Permission Assist Administrators determine how often an update occurs.

  2. Select the Next button.

What type of relationship does this person have to the organization?

This page is displayed if you are onboarding a new employee that has not yet been added to your directory source (i.e., Active Directory).

Select the type of employee you are onboarding and select the Next button. The Personal Information page is displayed.

This page is displayed after selecting the type of employee you are onboarding.

  1. Enter information into each of the following fields:

  2. After all information is entered, select the Next button.

This area allows you to add any additional notes, instructions, or comments that may be helpful for the Provision Team as they onboard this new person.
